Default Old shows crazy things

Posted By: jackgoodman

for a long time in the 70's and 80's, appearing at shows with autograph prices I wish I'd taken more advantage of at the time.

But I really remember getting his autograph at the '87 National. I always try to get players to sign their full name (first, middle, last) as I think a George Herman Ruth ball would be worth more than one signed Babe Ruth. So I mustered the courage to ask Joe to sign his full name. He looked at me for a moment and asked my name. I told him. He then started writing something on the ball that I couldn't see. When he handed me the ball, he said "that's the way I sign my checks, it'll have to do." He had signed the ball "To Jack, best wishes, Jos. P. DiMaggio." I was one happy camper.
