At a show Mays was casually signing as he chatted with his "handlers" without the any acknowledgement of the fanss or their autograph items. Though it is not my nature, I wrapped the table to get his attention and told him he was the best player I'd ever seen play (near truth). He stood up, shook my hand, thanked me three times, and signed my item very carefully. I think I was the only one that had a positive experience with him that day.
