Default what'd ya get in this week?

Posted By: Trevor Hocking

Well as most of you know I'm a third generation collector and I have a 4 year old son. Well for the first time about a month ago, Hunter and I sat down for almost 2 hours going through my topps sets. I would mix all the cards up and he loved to put them in order. Never the less it has given me a new least on collecting again so I have decided to do second sets of some of my favorites. T206, E145, 1933 & 1934 Goudey, 1952-1957 Topps. So in the last month I have been buying a lot of stuff!! I have always thought you should get the bleeding over early and buy the big guys first when you can find them. So here's the list of what I picked up this month.

T206
I had quite a few dups already but I'm just trying for the HOF'ers right now. I'm trying to collect in VG-EX to EX. You know crease free well centered cards.
Bender, Port & No Trees
Bresnahan, Port
Chance, Red Port
Clarke, Port
Evers, Port & Cubs
Tinker. Port
Waddell, Port

E145
Not really concerned with condition here. Still need a lot of help. I just love these cards.
Bender
Brown
Jackson

Colgan Chip
Ty Cobb (No Team)

1933 Goudey
One of my favorite sets. Easy to find and lots of HOF'ers. My first set is very nice so I thought I would put a lower grade set for Hunter to have fun with.
Three of the four Babe Ruth's Only need the red one!!
Both Lou Gerhig's

1933 Sport King
Ty Cobb

1934 Goudey
Both Lou Gehrig's

1952 Topps
I know it's not pre-war, but the 50's cards are where the hobby really evolved. These sets bring back a lot of memories for me. This set took my father and I three years and a lot of fun going to shows to finish.
Mantle PSA 1
Complete Dodger set including the high numbers VG-EX to EX

1953 Topps
Mantle
Page

1955 Topps
To many to list only missing 30 cards for set got all the big stuff.

1956
Had a lot of dups already so I just filled all the HOF'ers in. Need about 100 cards still. Mostly commons.

1957
My all time favorite 50's set. Got a large group from a good friend, and bought a big group from a dealer friend. So I only need about 75 cards and I have all the big stuff.

Man this set building is a lot more easy but not as much fun with ebay. So as you can see I have been very busy. Man I do love this hobby. Great thread Adam. Will I be seeing you at the Hollywood Park show?
