Let's not forget, H&B has a vested interest in Mr Bushing since, if I remember correctly, he is the only person that has access to H&B manufacture and sales records.

This whole deal stinks to high heaven. Bushing authenticates a bat that he owns and is the only person with access to records of the company that made and ultimately purchased the bat. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that the only reason the bat went auction instead of being sold privately was for all the publicity that the auction and sale would generate.
