I guess I can see how that long ago the league could be sort of its own entity rather than purely a feeder for the majors, with no major league teams on the West Coast, travel obstacles, etc. On the other hand, from what I know, anyone who was really a superstar in the PCL did make it to the majors, even O'Doul. Do you know why it took him so long to make it up to the bigs?
