MWI've bought and sold quite a few 1933 World Wide Gum Gehrigs in the past year and the card appears to be authentic. There is little question, however, that the card bears significant signs of alteration including one or more edges that are trimmed. I would also not discount the possibility that this particular specimen has been hand-cut from a sheet.
Edited to add: 1933 World Wide Gum cards were printed on a soft, clay-based stock.
