One of the few comics which could be considered for this forum. The cat's name is Bucky & the dog is Satch. I'll give you a hint - think Negro Leagues.
Also one of the funniest comics you will ever read! You do have to stick with it to keep up with the story at times. "Get Fuzzy" is hilarious!
