He was just short in both categories, and would have reached both with another 100 games in his prime.
Can you imagine Bainsey a Hall of Famer?
Good player forever but enshrined in Cooperstown?
Or he could have become the first player to reach 3K and not make it.
So maybe the players strikes actually served a purpose.
