I have an image of a Jim Jeffries matching the E79 set (Philadelphia Caramel too) except for the front printing with another portion of the ad on the back. I have also seen blank backed Cobbs. This all suggests an advertising medium, like a 19th century trade card, that advertisers could customize on the back.
