Default Getting Back to the basics?

Posted By: Julie

about vintage scans, (very PLENTIFUL!) of cards and photos. (The "sleeping Mickey" is a recent exception--and referred only to the pennant race and WS, anyway!)I remember a couple of phrases in particular, "the way she clogs up threads with her scans" and "she should have a special site where she can post her own scans to her heart's content". There was also a HUGE stink about posts of Japanerse cards as a memorial to Hiroshima which no Japanese ever found anything but beautiful....

A few months ago, I met Bill Cornell at the Berkeley Public Library; we both brought cards. He didn't bring as many as I did, but one which I LOVED was his T-222 Alexander. All the Alexanders I'd ever seen were funny-looking middle aged men (I know there are others). It was absolutely perfect. Of course I didnt' ask if it was for sale; i just admired it. A Couple of dayts later in the chatroom, he sent me a private message that one was for sale on ebay, and I won it.

It wasn't cheap (even with the little corner missing), but I love it...
