ScottThis board isn't a neat little book with a perfectly thought-out table of contents and index. Most of the people who contribute aren't writers, most know far less than others (they especially know less than experienced hobbyists like Barry) about the hobby, some have poor communication skills and/or hot tempers. And on top of all of that, most don't even agree on what subjects should be allowed on this board - some won't even tolerate ANY of the exposes of late, others want to talk politics and religion, and still others just like to talk and don't know much about anything. (I possess many of the traits in question, some of which I'm not proud of). When I get sick of the rambling arguments, I stop opening the thread in question. When I get sick of the board in general, I go away for a while - I highly recommend both techniques. BTW - I find the Keeler discussion disgusting as well, but I doubt it's for the same reasons as the four of you. I have much more tolerance for "heated discussions", but very low tolerance for ignorance and lies. But that's what makes a horse race.
Things will go overboard at times because the board is well-used. It's better than the alternative, where we never fight, and rarely even post: http://www.network54.com/Forum/273838>
Robert - if you started reading a poorly-written book, and found it offensive, wouldn't you close it and not re-open it?
