Default Interesting Mastro Items

Posted By: Joe_G.

The last several OJs I sent in for grading all had outstanding fronts but anywhere from a single word to three lines of writing on the back and all graded SGC20-30. I have a couple examples of single line notations (persons name for instance) receiving SGC40 so there is some variance. I believe their rule of thumb falls in-line with the following:

small mark no higher than SGC50
single word/line no higher than SGC40
two lines no higher than SGC30
three lines no higher than SGC20
four or more lines no better than SGC10

These low grades on otherwise beautiful OJs (an issue that many don't even care about back condition) is my main gripe with SGC. I support notations such as MK etc. used by PSA for issues that are blank backed.
