We inserted "repli-card" sheets into various issues of Baseball Cards magazine and some of our other sports titles between 1984-1993. By the time we ended the practice, the cards seemed to have lost their appear as a newsstand sales incentive, plus we were getting heat from the MLBPA about their status as editorial content. It would have cost a lot of money to defend our position and since the cards were no longer driving magazine sales, we dropped them. I have not yet done a Brett Favre card (I'm still looking for a good college photo). I did get a good response from Burt Reynolds about his Florida State card; he had me work up a dozen extra cards for him to give out to family and colleagues.
