The owner could take the poster to a local giclee printer and have it done at reasonable cost. Giglee is a digital/computer printing method that can make high quality reproductions of photographs, posters and paintings. The processes has been used by numerous famous artists including Richard Avedon and David Hockney.

The best thing would to have the reproduction at a different size, so we don't get into any Fro Joy crap.
