Up for sale tonight is an extremely popular and very rare Rookie Card of HOF great, Ty Cobb. This beauty is the 1907 Wolverine News Portrait Postcard picturing Cobb on his first individual baseball card appearance. This card was originally in a PSA 3(MK) holder but I preferred the superior presentation of its current SGC holder and had it crossed over in spite of the drop in grade. The front of the card grades a strong VG and the back is postally used, but that is what makes this Cobb rarity so special!!! The message on the card back was written by a Detroit resident on October 15, 1909 and subsequently mailed on October 16, 1909. The message refers to the Pittsburgh-Detroit World Series going on during these two days!!!
