Pioneer valley is formed by the Connecticut River and is located in western Massachusetts. The regional name may also extend into CT as well. I'm not sure who the tickets are for specifically, but it is likely that they are from this small area. The two field day pamphlets are from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), which is largely an engineering college located in the same general area. There were (are?) some Army training grounds in the Western part of Massachusetts and Eastern New York for quite some time, perhaps that's what this team is? Interesting items.
