Mark, I'm glad you got one with the original base...In honor of your acquisition, I have posted a photo on my TROPHIES page of the example that sold in the 2005 REA auction for $3,250.

On the Testi statues...the repro's are easy to ID, they're cast in bronze, whereas the originals are cast in Galvano. The interesting thing about the repros is that the ones I've seen are pretty nicely cast, with good definition...for being modern, they're pretty nice. Usually modern repro bronzes lack detail. As I recall the repro Testi's have a very dark patina, almost black, and are weighty.
