D. BerginThis is a real photo postcard I pulled from a vintage album full of postcards and photos. Most of the images were boxing related but there were several other sports represented. The date range was between 1917-23.
It looks like an American Football helmet from the searches I've done, only problem is this originates from the Geneva, Switzerland area. I can't imagine American Football being a factor over there.
Possibly an Auto Racer? I couldn't find any evidence of Rugby players wearing these types of helmets. It's inscribed and signed on the front but I can't make out a word of it.
If anybody has any clues let me know. Thanks.
