Ebay was just one avenue for people to bid on these. They were actioned by Rich Penn Auctions... kind of the "Mastro" or "REA" for Americana. This is a Live Auction similar to Hunt's or Heritage, in which you can use Ebay to bid live (alongside the Floor Bidders).

If you look at the winning bidder in the Ebay listing, you'll see that a Live Auction Floor Bidder actually won the Fan-Taz Dispenser. It was not actually won via Ebay.

I think it would be pretty risky to list something of this value on Ebay alone... but who knows for sure? It's one of those great pieces that I know will always be waaaay out of reach for me!
