Chris, I agree totally with you regarding the scarcity of the 1914 cards.
While Julies right (and I know this has been discussed before) that there are several cards where the 1915s go for more, its likely because there are many more 1915s around and in better condition today because of the full sets that were available back when the cards were offered.... thus more demand for the 1915s... not necessarily across the board but at least for certain cards.
Myself, I prefer the 1914s (even with their caramel staining) because of the knowledge that they were pulled out of a box of cracker jack by some excited kid (or parent) back in that era...
