Default The End of Baseball Season

Posted By: ty_cobb

I've spent a lot of time at the local baseball field
with my 4.1/2 year old son Darian, He was thrilled
when I went to Prostock Sports on Thursday to pick
up real bases for our batting practise. Saturday morning
was our season ender.

I was watching the the Mariners go into extra innings
vs. Detroit that evening and he went to over to the
neighbors to play. When he came home, Darian ran through
our balcony window. Needless to say, there was more
blood gushing than in the Monty Python movie. I called the
paramedics, my wife started applying pressure to his lacerated arms,
and I ran over to my
neighbors for first aid supplies (he has an industrial first aid ticket.)

We were up until two AM in the morning at Vancouver Children's Hospital,
luckily no arteries were severed,
and we were able to get his arms stitched. I'm thankful
the boy is doing well today
(my living room is completely trashed- blood and glass eveywhere).

PS: I want to thank Max Weder and everyone from SABR
Vancouver for inviting me to the meeting and BBQ the
previous weekend, for those of you who don't know
Max has an astounding vintage bb book collection.
