Oh my goodness, did you say "black guys" rather than African Americans? What would the PC guru's of the world think about this? Personally, I would venture to guess that Roy Campanella, Ernie Banks, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron probably were born in the US. So poop on the PC people.

You've got to figure that they were deserving of the award. I don't think that they just gave the awards away to show that they were doing the PC thing because back then I would venture top guess nobody cared about the PC thing.

I'm trying to remember who the other players (not black) were that won the award in the NL between 1949 and 1963:

I can only come up with Dick Groat in 1960. The only reason I remember is because I can vaguely recall the 1975 Topps series with the MVP award winners. I guess I'll have to cheat and look this up. First I'll give it a day to see who else pops in with the answers.
