Default T3's and T9's

Posted By: Mike Peich

When Mike Wheat first displayed these reproductions at Ft. Washington, they looked exactly like the original because they are the same size, same color and gloss, and close to being the same weight of paper stock. The only identifying mark distinguishing them as a reprint appears in the two bottom corners. Inside the normal border is a fleuron-like device (a circle with five cigar-shaped leaves extending from it). Obviously, this does not appear on the original card. There is no statement that these are reprints.

Mike, I am certain, has reproduced these as a labor of love. Yet, after we first saw his prototypes, a few of us joked at Ft. Washington that they might start appearing on eBay. The joke has become reality, and, as Bill Cornell notes in the Buy/Sell/Trade thread, Caveat emptor: buyer beware.

Best to all on Mother's Day, Mike
