John(z28jd)Sometimes on ebay all you need is 2 people who place bids so they know they wont lose and one ends up paying alot more than they really wanted to.I know ive won stuff before where the final price didnt even reach the halfway point of what my max bid was.
The guy who bid $97 probably thought it wouldnt reach half that but made his bid that high just in case,the other guy probably thought the same thing just bid higher(or in this case he might have known to bid higher if they really bid on the same cards alot,in which case you chalk this up to competition)
I know recently i got outbid on a small item,and one like it was ending a few days later for the same opening bid but i didnt like getting outbid by someone with 8 feedback,so i paid a little more than i shouldve for it.I really thought it was better to pay a little extra than be mad that some new person outbid me
