I've only been a couple of times but the wife and I enjoy eating at Scomas (sp?) which is a seafood restaurant down by Fishermans Wharf...

I don't know what a locals view of the place is but we had some excellent meals there. Just be prepared to wait in line for a bit (but its well worth it!)
