The whole "my grandfather gave me this and I just don't know anything about it" story is a sign a card is fake as much as the "got this at an estate sale" line of bullsh**.
Why? I was given a few cards from my grandfather and because they were from my grandfather who thought enough of them to keep them all those years made me WANT to know more about them because they were from him and not just a random garage sale find. I'll bet if this fool DID buy this card at a garage sale he would have done some research and that's sad. To react so casually to ANYTHING your grandparents pass down to you just doesn't seem like the typical reaction. At least I hope it isn't the typical reaction.
At best any seller who uses this story is really saying:
"I'm too self-centered, stupid, or lazy to find out anything about this item passed down to me through my family. But I will take the time to put it on eBay and deposit the $$$."
Such humanitarians.
