i do not think it is from packaging as the silvering is always in low area's almost like factory peel spots filled in, and always on the border, perhaps dull cutting blades? as can be seen from most mayo football the left edge usually has a scalloped look.

you will however find remnants of the dark purple package adhered to the front of the cards and that is definitely from the pack
