Trevor HockingWell I have a little experience in grading Old Judges. I have rarely seen that kind of a cut on Old Judge's. They are usually very smooth and symmetrical. I think that rough edge on most cards would have made it an 80 but just look at the photo quality. If the edge was sharp that card would be an 88 for sure, but there is what looks to be a tobacco stain of some kind on the right hand side as well. I will have to say that because of the world class photo it deserves to be in a 84, but I do wish they would put that much consideration on photo quality in their grading for all their grades. When it comes to SGC it seems they have the best gauge when it comes to the N172's. Here is a link to my SGC 84 and 88 for comparison. I don't know how to post an image. If some could help me with that I would greatly appreciate it.
