Many of you remember the following Graded T206's sold on Ebay with rare"rebacked" backs in the last 2 years. Here is a list to refresh your memories and to inform the newbies:
1. Cobb/Green background/ Red Hindu Pro Graded
2. Johnson/Pitching/Broadleaf 350 Pro Graded
3. Mathewson/Red Hindu Sgc Corrected
4. Cobb/ Drum PSA Corrected
All of these doctored cards seem to come from the same group of people who continue to sell on Ebay.
I know that this board has been attacked recently for going after Ebay fraud, but I can't allow anyone else to be fooled into buying rebacked cards just because they are graded by a third party grader. As you can see above, even Psa and Sgc have been fooled by these fakes so if it looks to good to be true, stay away.
Warning signs?
1. Private auctions
2. Low Grade cards with staining around the edges
3. Backs that just don't quite fit there fronts
I won't point out all the signs because the good doctors don't need anymore help. Be wary and ask questions, because rebacks are starting to return to Ebay. Be well Brian
