I reattached the display top of a 1970-71 basketball card box that I got in a deal about 10 years ago. Used wallpaper paste and a toothpick to apply it. Worked great (I could open and close the box), was nearly undetectable, and looked great too, until it was destroyed in the 1994 Northridge earthquake along with many of my other possessions. There are other adhesives that can be used, probably even better (I was really taking a shot at it for fun, since I'd not paid for the box and later thought of it as an afterthought for display). The scan of the Cobb sure looks like the card was was reattached. You'll probably want to get the opinion of a paper restoration person on it.
