of course it is "real"; somone had to scan something. The issue is whether it is authentic.

Sorry, but this grammatical issue is becoming a real pet peeve of mine because I am trying to teach my 4 y.o. daughter the difference between
"real" and authentic or alive (she tells me that her toy cat is not "real" when she means it is not a live cat like her pet).
