I bought my DAT machine from a (0) feedback seller who seemed okay, but was new & all. I talked him into escrow. I paid for escrow, which for a ~$600 item was (I think) about $30 -- which is about the same as overnight express and a couple long-distance phone calls.

With escrow, the seller doesn't get his/her money until 1. you've received the item AND 2. you've approved it (usually a 2-3 day "inspection period"). Probably couldn't pass it by Derek (sorry, couldn't resist) in that amount of time, but you could give it a good look over and send us all a good scan .
