Bob: Usually when a lot exceeds my estimate, I begin to wonder if I might have made a mistake with the figures. In this case, perhaps it was a collector who really wanted that lot and money was no object. That is how a low pop 1933 Goudey PSA 8 COMMON sells for $25,000. To you and me, that is insane.
However, if it's an item for my collection, my "estimates" are out the window and I will do what it takes to attain it.
Tom: Even if the Matty were SGC 10, I still would have taken this bid. If that were the case, I'd surely need a better Matty to give Mr. "Candy Man" some competition for the top e102 set on the SGC registry!
