...signature itself. And just maybe a forger would figure that since the card already has a value, it wouldn't be suspect AS A FORGERY. But lets do some calculating. Let's say this was signed 7 years ago. What's a Ruth card THIS badly centered, in this grade worth back then? $500? What was an autographed Ruth picture worth back then..maybe $2000??? Hell, why not..right? It does make a compelling, intriguing piece of high desireability. A card signed by Ruth. PERFECT for a signed card collector, but it's NOT an authentic signature in my estimation, and with Ruth, a large man with a fountain pen blobbing away, probably standing up at the ballpark signing this in his big hand...no way! How many Ruth cards were signed so neatly as if sitting at a table at a show with a perfect writing implement in perfect penmanship? C'mon! A real Ruth on a card of this size, with the given space??...Ruth would have written right off the end of the card before he finished it!!
