Default What Series Are From the Pre-War Era?

Was wondering what series of cards fall into the pre-war era?

I know about "T" and "E" but are there others? All I have right now for a reference is Beckett Baseball Card Annual #3 (from about 1998) and cards are listed by manufacturer and not year.
