Default Cards more scarce than the t206 Wagner - name those you've owned

Posted By: jay behrens

I have had two complete sets of uncatalogued
(they might be now, but back in 1987 they weren't) strip cards from the late 20s. One was printed on blue cardboard, the other on red and used actual photos. Not very attractive and often difficult to even make out details in the photos.

My addition to truly scare items would be complete boxes of Wheaties from 1930s. I owned a complete run of these up to the 1941 set in the mid 80s.

I got a good chuckle when I offered them to a very prominent dealer who was running an add saying he was buying them. When I showed him what I had, he said he had already bought all the Wheaties sets that he needed, lol. As suspected, he had already bought a collection (and not complete boxes) and was up to his usual trick of posting a large buy price for something he had already bought cheap, then used that add to justify the high resale price.
