I seem to recall a similarly defaced Mag?e that came with a letter of authentication from some outfit in New Jersey (a friend told me they were disreputable anyway...i didn't know and don't remember who it was). The letter attested to the fact that it was once a Magie error.

maybe the dude who bought Scott's card would like to pay some non-collecting friend of mine a few hundred bucks to "authenticate" the card. i could probably round up somebody who'd sign something .
