Demand is a bigger driver of card prices than supply. Always has been. Topps made the same number of 1952 Mantles as 1952 Thompsons. I have literally dozens of cards that are much more difficult to find regardless of condition than a 1989 UD Griffey in PSA 10 condition. Doesn't mean a thing: people want the Griffey card.
