Kudos to your dad for not passing out due to sticker shock! That's still a lot of money for a little piece of throwaway cardboard sold to little boys for less than a cent. I was lucky enough to grow up when four cards plus a sheet of wholesome delicious bubble gum cost only five cents and your father probably remembered basically the same.
