I have this in hand (currently my only D304) and it looks like black to me. So, that said, this might be one of my erroneous (handicap) color issues. If so, my apologies. I can't recall it happening with cards but I guess I wouldn't know what I don't know.
I was 17 when I discovered I had the issue...weird.
