Default Thoughts on sending in vintage cards and getting lower grade from more reputable co.

New to collecting and new to this community.
I just wanted to get the thoughts and opinions from this community.

If you have a low graded vintage card from SGC (grade 1 or 2), would you crack it open and send it in to PSA, knowing that it will get a lower grade?
It seems like collectors will pay more for slabs in PSA compared to other grading companies.

Cards that I am contemplating doing that to, are for my personal collection.
Collection will eventually go to my children and they will probably sell them.

An example would be an SGC graded 1, 1909-11 T206 Cy Young.

Thank you for your opinion.
