I would think some could sign their names different ways on different days... depending on the circumstances, where and why they're signing... If you're twenty one and buying your first home and it's an important point in your life you might sign differently than you would signing for a speeding ticket...

Below are two sigs I got from Joe D...The first one on the cover of a 1939 Model Builder Magazine...he may have been a little irritated at me for asking...You can read the whole story in the links under the photos to features I did both times I got him to sign....The second one on the Yankees popcorn vendors cap he had just arrived at my hotel and was more relaxed...

In thirty eight years working as a bellman I've only asked for autographs three times...twice with DiMaggio and another time when I was pretty new I brought Terry Bradshaw a sandwich to his room after room service closed...It was just a coincidence that the cover on that week's Sports Collectors Digest had the words FOOTBALL CARDS ARE HOT in big flames I think it was...I brought it with me and hit him up after I gave him his sandwich...He was watching T.V. and I remember he hesitated briefly then said ok and signed...seemingly out of idle interest he read the words on the cover out loud FOOTBALL CARDS ARE HOT...like, huh that's interesting...As an employee it's a no-no to ask for an autograph...but with DiMaggio no way was I letting that one by me...Being a bellman is about the greatest job in the world...and you get to see interesting stuff...But you don't always get lucky...one time Stephen Curry was staying with us and it was a crazy busy day....all the bellman were busy when he checked in…and an assistant front desk manager escorted him to his room...got a v handsome tip which he framed...sorry for getting off subject...the subject brought back stuff...
