The newspaper image below is from the Victoria (Texas) Advocate of September 3rd, 1933. It identifies the man to the right of Babe Ruth as Al Williams, an aviator and former New York Giant pitcher (1916-1917) who was participating in an exhibition game. Nobody by that name played for the Giants those years. A pitcher named Al Williams played for the Bushwick baseball club in Brooklyn at that time; perhaps he had tried out for the Giants in spring training.
