John Levi was a well regarded football and baseball athlete, elected posthumously in the American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame. A football all-American, in 1924 he was signed by the NY Yankees but never played in the majors. Hit over 300 in several minor league years. These may be two of the best extant photos. Taken by Thorne, the Yankees in-house photographer in 1924, likely at New Orleans spring training.
