This marks the first time I have ever seen any cursive writing in Leonard's hand other than his autograph, so I can't comment on if he wrote that part himself or not! Even before the stroke, he printed everything in block letters, and I mean everything. The autograph is obviously fine, and the inscription certainly appears to have been added at the same time with the same pen. Very interesting, to say the least. I appreciate seeing this.
His better half, Lugenia "Jean" Leonard, did write everything in cursive, however. I've even seen her write "Hall of Fame" when writing a letter for Buck after the stroke, and while there are some similarities here, there are more differences. Like I said, it's just very interesting from an authentication/study standpoint. It's pretty hard to be captivated by a Buck Leonard piece!
