Someone misusing a word doesn't render a fact false. Until the defintion changes, it's a fact. Find a reputable dictionary with a different defintion instead of a random blogger to support your position. Lexicon is always changing, so common misuse can result in a defintion modification. Of course, the word "literally" was misused so much the dictionary now includes "figuratively" as an alternate definition. So maybe one day you might be right, and your personal definition might become accepted.
