I'm really looking forward to my New Years Eve menu: grilled lamb chops, Lyonnaise potatoes, some sort of veggie. My wife is back east visiting my daughter. I couldn't make the trip due to two broken feet. I'm still in a boot and really cannot walk much, so no trip for me. I have an amazing marinade recipe i got from my mother but my wife doesn't like lamb so I only make it when she's away.

I love lamb! I just had a rack of lamb a couple of weeks ago. We take the inlaws out for a Xmas treat every year. Others at the table ordered cheaply (salads, kids menu items), so I got to splurge.
Hope you heal up quickly. When I was 18, my friends dad fell off a ladder and broke both ankles 6 months before a big 50 mile boy scout hike at Philmont Scout Ranch. He went with us and walked so slowly. A small gaggle of us had to hit the trail 60-90 minutes earlier than the others to make it to our next location on time. As for food, they gave us ration portions. I was always starving.
