2001 Topps was a set that I went all in on. I thought the idea of the 50th Anniversary was so cool. Then with the explosion of Ichiro in WA, and the ASG in Seattle, it was probably the best collecting year of my life. My father bought tickets to Fanfest, and we stayed in my sister's apartment in Issaquah, and then we stayed in Fanfest all day! I bought a box of Fleer Tradition and pulled a Jackie Robinson GU relic card. And then we stood in line for autographs all day. I met Bob Gibson, Brooks Robinson, Bobby Thomson and Ralph Branca among others. Later in the summer I was busy buying Bowman Heritage. By the time Chrome came out, my collecting world was already saturated. I picked this card up a couple years ago because the nostalgia of that year is through the roof!
