To these people in 3rd world countries a single successful scam for let's say a few hundred dollars, is absolutely massive. You're talking months of food and other necessities being covered on 1 scam. So the incentive is assumingly through the roof. It's really a terrible situation.
And I'm happy that net54 is very very tuned in and aware of what to look for.
The United States really needs to say to these countries, hey you know all these massive call centers making hundreds of thousands of dollars a week scamming (usually) elderly people that are "technically" illegal but nothing is enforced there? They need to be investigated or we are going to start punishing you in some way financially. How much longer will it go on?
