Condition is everything, of course. And these tend to be so big and so thin that they get beat up, stained, wrinkled, dents and dings, etc.

The demand is also often very thin. These are not a mainline topps issue where even the commons are in demand by someone. So most of the time, you will have fun finding a buyer at any price. But outside of the stars, if you’re willing to take $50 apiece, the odds are good that they will sell…eventually.

Even for the stars, it’s just a question of how motivated a buyer is, which is often a function of how long they’ve been looking, and how much they’re willing to drop on it. Most of the time they will sit, even at low prices. But on a good day, you could probably get 3 figures and maybe even mid 3 figures. On a great day, when the stars align, and especially if it’s graded and highly graded, then you might get low 4 figures. But that’s going to be rare.

As a good example of this dynamic, a Drysdale is on eBay right now for $16, including shipping. It has a few bends, and one of the corners is dinged up. But otherwise it’s not a bad example.
